HBOR and EU
HBOR has harmonised its operations with the EU acquis communautaire. This means that in the implementation of its loan programmes and business activities, HBOR applies the same rules which apply to state development banks and agencies in the Member States.
Within the framework of its business activities, HBOR provides support to entrepreneurs through the implementation of programmes for financing specialised EU financial institutions and activities regarding previous financing and co-financing of entrepreneurs that apply for the utilisation of EU pre-accession funds.
EU funds
EU funds are financial means from the European Union budget intended for non-Member States of the EU (so-called Assistance programmes, such as the CARDS programme) and candidate countries for the European Union membership (Pre-accession programmes – Phare, ISPA, SAPARD and IPA) with the objective of implementing political, economic and institutional reforms and in case of pre-accession programmes, preparing for the EU membership and utilisation of Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund.
Since 2000, Croatia has been the beneficiary of the CARDS programme and of the pre-accession programmes Phare, ISPA, SAPARD and IPA. After the accession to the European Union, Croatia will be given the opportunity to participate in Structural Funds and in the Cohesion Fund.
