The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) has launched a new financial product - factoring of export receivables, intended for Croatian exporters. The product enables faster access to working capital, improvement of liquidity and cash flow, thus providing exporters with additional support for their operation in international markets.
It is a service for the purchase of overdue short-term export receivables, with the insurance of the receivables with an insurance policy issued by HBOR or Hrvatsko kreditno osiguranje d.d. (HKO), on the basis of which exporters will be able to convert their future receivables into immediately available funds, with greater certainty of collection of receivables from foreign buyers.
“By launching this programme, we continue to strengthen HBOR’s role as a financial partner to Croatian exporters and expand the range of instruments used to support their presence in international markets. By purchasing receivables not yet due, we enable domestic exporters to access funds more quickly, improve their liquidity, and manage cash flow more efficiently, while simultaneously reducing the risk associated with the collection of payments from foreign buyers through the insurance of receivables. In this way, we create prerequisites for strengthening their competitiveness and for the further growth of their export business," pointed out Hrvoje Čuvalo, the President of the Management Board of HBOR.
The new product is available to exporters who, according to the HBOR methodology, achieve adequate credit quality, while all receivables that are the subject of factoring must be secured by a receivables insurance policy, where the coverage must be at least 85 percent of the value of the main receivable.
In order to provide exporters with the most favourable financing conditions possible, factoring is offered at a fixed interest rate applicable throughout the entire duration of the approved facility, with a factoring fee of 0.15% of the value of the purchased receivable, and with no application processing fee.
By introducing factoring for export receivables, HBOR further expands its comprehensive support for Croatian exporters, providing them with overall support for their operations in international markets. This includes the financing of investments and working capital, providing credit to foreign buyers, issuing of export credit guarantees, as well as insuring and financing of export receivables. Consequently, Croatian entrepreneurs are better positioned to plan with greater certainty, strengthen the resilience of their operations and manage working capital more efficiently. Furthermore, this creates new export opportunities by offering even stronger support for their continued growth and expansion into foreign markets.
